I'm thinking of entering a Pagan Fiction contest sponsored by BBI Media (publishers of PanGaia, Sage Woman, etc.). It's free and it's Pagan and the top prize is $500 plus publication in an anthology. Runners-up will be considered too.
But I only have twenty days to get an entry in the mail. Not enough time to write something new, so I'm looking at revising an old short story.
Interesting - I have many Pagan-centric poems, but only one short.
Not sure if I'll make the deadline, though. It's a decent story, great concept, but the ending is seriously weak, which is why it's been sitting in a drawer. It would be a real feat to fix in three weeks what I couldn't fix in six years.
It would feel good to do it. That would make three stories on the market in three months. That's real progress.
Maybe I'll throw some ideas at you good people, hmm?
