It wasn't until Naruto had (poorly) explained how walking on snow works that Yuna realized she done it before-- on water. It was a skill she used for sending over a body of water, though, it was not utilized beyond that, since her friends hadn't had the trick taught to them. She hadn't done it in two years, so it was still quite a struggle. However, the previous experience turned out to be very useful. She didn't tell Tidus before she ventured out-- she wanted to surprise him.
