Wishing on a Falling Star . . .
I return after a long absence with some very sad news. My cat, Nightwind, is dying.
For those of you who don't know, Nightwind is the elder of our two cats. He's been with us for ten and a half years, and he's always been the calmer and more cuddly of the cats, as well as the fatter. In the last year, however, he's been losing a lot of weight, until now he's horribly skinny and has stopped eating entirely. He barely moves any more, except to use the litterbox. The vet thinks it's liver cancer.
I haven't been home in the last few weeks, and feel horrible about it, but my mom tells me Nightwind isn't in pain. He's just fading.
I know that Nightwind's not going to get better. I only pray he lasts until next weekend, when I'll see him for what is probably the last time. If any who read this care, please pray for him too.
