I Grieve
I grieve because today, in Euro 2012, I saw a team that had a mediocre campaign win.
I hate that Spain must wait till the last minute to prove their worth. Yes, they gave a good game, they actually played.
But, have they proved that football is about possession? Because I would hate to think they have.
I want to believe that football is still about goals, about looking for a victory, about overcoming the rival.
I want to believe this way of playing will soon be overpowered by a new team, by new heroes.
Or, I want to believe Spain will play all the time as they do now, not with an endless devotion for goalless passing, not just passing time, but giving us the football we really want.
Two years to wait.
