Hello again! I went back through my old posts today... they were all so emo and melodramatic! Had to delete them; they were too depressing and odd.... Annyyywayyy... I'm a lot happier lately than I was when I posted those. On to more interesting things!
I went to an antique fair yesterday! It was wonderful, I had a fantastic time, and my only wish is that it wasn't so windy and cold! For those of you in the SF/Norcal area, its the
Alameda Point Antiques and Collectibles Fair. I had to get up relatively early to drive there, but it was well worth it! I bought some wonderful things I'll soon post pics of, including a vintage brown bomber jacket, 4 vintage gold rings, a crest/key gold key pin, a pair of gold earrings shaped like chairs, a black peacoat, a pair of gold cufflinks (not for me of course- I think they'd make a good gift later), and the best purchase I made- a 1950s candy pink knee-length petticoat! It was only ten dollars and I ADORE it. its in perfect condition! Such a great buy, I'm so excited to find a dress to match it!
Which brings me to my next topic- PROM. My school's prom this year is Casablanca themed, so I'm for a 40s/50s type dress. I'm having a lot of fun searching sites for vintage reproductions and such, and I have a strong desire to buy one that will work with my new petti. So far the site that seems to have the most dresses that would fit me well and flatter me is
Baby Girl Boutique. I bought a pin-up girl dress from them about 2 years ago if not more for a theme party and I cannot stress how fantastic this dress is! I think I'll buy a dress from them this year. But which one?
On the subject of prom... I have a new boyfriend! He's such a sweetie its great! The only problem is that he's a vegan, but I'm starting to get over how weird it is... He really doesn't look like the vegan-type though.. he's about 6'5" and probably more than 230 pounds. He's huge! And he has a great big beard. His name is Richard. I met him at a track meet haha... we both throw discus and shotput. And he's a friend of a boyfriend of a friend. So we're happy together. He's coming over for dinner on thursday night, and my mom isn't into the whole vegan thing (she says vegetarians are only okay, but vegans are crazy), so I have to cook a separate dinner for him. But thats okay... I mean at least he'll know I made it special for him. :) And after dinner we're going to watch Casablanca together because neither of us has seen it, and it makes sense to watch it if my prom is that theme. I don't know what theme his prom is yet. (He goes to a different school than me).
Hm... I think that's it for now! I worked really hard at track n field practice today! I think I'll do great at my next meet. :)
