Well.
This was an interesting evening.
First, around 5:00, the power goes out for the whole block. Then, about 5:20, the fire alarms start going off. The building-wide one, not the one in my apartment. Grab a coat and my purse, head outside. Hang out with other people in my building, for about 45 minutes. Fire alarm is still going off. Obviously no fire, but we're not going back inside with that thing going off. One girl finally gets fed up, calls the manager's office (which she apparently had on her cell phone's speed dial). She asked them when they thought the fire alarm was going to stop. Her next comment, into her phone, was "Yes. It's been going off for about 45 minutes. There are people out here with their cats." Idiots didn't even know it was going off. Aren't apartment buildings supposed to be in some sort of switch board? So, the fire alarm has now been going off for over an hour. And the fire trucks (3 of them) finally show up. Search the building, verify that indeed, there is no fire. And turn off the alarm.
But... an hour? If there had been any people trapped in the building, they'd have been long dead were this an actual fire.
But, hey. Fire trucks. *g*
And, random poll, because I am bored.
