So I was at the gym with a good friend of mine today and we were catching up on the few shows we both watch. Which, btw, is always kinda hilarious because we don't agree on anything we watch. Ever. Name a character or pairing and we disagree. Heh. Anyway, we started talking about The Vampire Diaries (which is totally my new shiny toy this season!) and the characters. For those that don't watch it involves a pair of vampire brothers, one "evil" and one "good," and them vying for the same girl. I said I liked Damon (the evil one because HOLY HELL HAI THERE IAN SOMERHALDER)

and she started talking about how she enjoyed Stefan (the good one) and Elena together and blah blah. And me? What do I say?
"Yeah, there're okay. But I really think Damon and Stefan are way hotter togeth ... "
I stopped and kinda coughed. Fuck me. *EPIC FACEPALM* Oops.
She kinda looked at me funny and I mumbled something about liking them together as brothers/family. While I really meant that they're fucking HOT together and have enough sexual tension floating between them that clearly needs to be resolved by having teh dirtybadwrong vampire!brother sex and I need to go find me some fic of that, kthanx. (Quick aside - Wincest fans? I apologize if I ever made a crack. It never squicked me out but I was always, "Meh, they're brothers." NOW? Totally get it.)
I have to remember that not everyone thinks about the hot boys having teh gay sex. Why? I don't know but there are people out there that don't get it. Really! It's true. Hm. Because how can you not think these two want to fuck each other?
Although, seriously, it was kinda weird for a minute. Just because - I don't know what they would think, you know? I like that fandom is mine but I'm more keeping it private for that instead of my friends and family's thoughts. My whole family is comfortable with the big gay love and so are my friends. Truthfully, I kinda think if I slipped my mom some Kradem fic she'd go insane (she loves her some Adam). But I dunno. I love my friends but it might be a weee bit of leap from going to Pride together to having to explain that I like to read and write teh gay porn.
