Long time, again. I know.
Hooeee. You know what? For all the NOT posting I do here lately (and by 'lately', I mean 'In the last two years'), I still read LJ almost Every Day. I know it's a little crazy, but I'm still vicariously hanging on to everything you guys say.
But reading other people's belated update about SDCC made me remember that I still need to post MY belated update about SDCC. Some exciting stuffs happened there, and there are some stories I should share.
Our house was broken into a few months back, so I'm typing this on my new laptop. It's a beast, but the screen is reeeeeally pretty. Silver lining, I guess, but I don't like feeling so violated. And then the car was broken into the week after. I love this house, I hate this neighborhood now. It'd be hell to try to sell a house right now though, so we're kind of sitting pretty about it.
Meanwhile, things are fine here. Hiro is amazing, and has grown so much in all sorts of ways this summer. He starts preschool in the fall (already!), right after the surgery for his hernia :(. But he just amazes us every day with what he's learned, or what he can do. And he's still so damn cute we can't get over it. He really is a little wonder. <3
I want to get back to sewing more. I did some for SDCC (which I will discuss in my SDCC post, I suppose), but I'm kind of itching to have a project again. It's still hard to find the time to work on things, but when I can it's really nice to feel accomplished. I have an idea for Hiro and I for Halloween (Brander is working on something else) that shouldn't be too hard, but I want to make something fancier and pretty. I have a few ideas, but I get so torn when I try to choose between several projects. The period costume I want to sew is the one I'm staring at RIGHT THIS MOMENT. And then I see that *other* one, and I want to do that one again. Right now I'm torn between an Edwardian suit, and saque-back dress, and a Tudor or Elizabethan gown. Nothing particularly original, but gah, I need to be doing *some*thing.
Okay! I need to eat lunch, and then hopefully get around to my Masquerade post. I will try my best to get it posted in the next 24 hours.
