otp: let's just do this and go home
If you haven't watched the FX series Fargo yet, you really need to put that on your to-do list -- especially if you liked the movie. I was hesitant at first, but it's its own mostly-independent story with the same aesthetic the movie has.
However, I've also been inspired to write some fanfic for it -- and the first real fanfic I've written in a while -- so way to go, me; back to my roots.
It's all about Mr. Numbers and Mr. Wrench, and it's entirely pre-series, so there are no spoilers in the stories themselves (just don't read the comments, because sometimes people are dingbats); if you've seen the start of episode 2 and you know who they are, you're good to go. Plus, it's filled with ideas by my good buddies, particularly relvetica, who is my ASL consultant and special bad ideas enabler this time around.
Someday I may yammer on a little bit more about the mechanics of using Orthodox Judaism as a parallel to the Deaf community, in that they're both insular groups that come off by design as completely impenetrable -- but for the time being, just enjoy it.
