Just figured it was better to ban a chatterbox than to curse the darkness.

...Oh, I really don't like this, I used to hit tab-space to post comments, and now hitting tab gets me to that stupid Repost to Settings thing. Now it affects my routine! Grab the torches and pitchforks!

EXACTLY, EXACTLY, augh I just posted about this. I'm pretty freaked about the privacy thing but this whole ruining the expected tab behavior thing is inducing RAGE. FACE ON FIREEEE.

I've done similar--posting a reply to someone's post in my own journal, although in the specific case I'm thinking of, it was about writing a journal (or ten) and it got so long I decided I'd better not do that to her comments page, plus it was full of good info. But most random comments? Nah, unless it's really pithy and I can explain the context quickly ("and this is what I wrote in reply to someone's post about Glenn Beck...").
