non-required reading

Because hunterandhunted helped me organize my comics last night, I figured I should go through and read through my backlog before tossing them all into the longboxes!

Hawksmoor #6 (of 6): I like Jack and I'm glad he got his own series, which was pretty well-done. Otherwise, I noticed in the sorting that I'm missing issue #5, which I'm sure would make the end a whole lot more explicable.

Authority: World's End #2: I'll be honest: I hate WildStorm's 'end of the world!!!!' thing they've been pulling lately, because this apocalypse is all terribly boring zombie glowing ghost monster storm mutant dead things with nipple piercings. Anyway, they could have their artist write DESPAIR over every page and it'd have the same effect.

Buffy #18: Decision to include Fray: awesome! Freaky twin dynamics: also awesome! Big Bad Evil revealed last issue: ...yeah, would've been better if you'd done that back in Season 7, but I hold no grudges. The Fray arc is set to wrap up next issue, and if you like Buffy, you should really be reading this.

Fables #75: The war is over! Next issue, prepare for ... The New Threat! *yawn*

Hellblazer #246: I really like the new artist because he draws a little like halcyonjazz. I don't know if Jason Aaron just took over for this little two-shot or if he's going to stay on, but I really like his style, his Constantine, and his sense of the truly horrible.

Supernatural: Rising Son #5 (of 6): On the one hand, it's lame to use your comic to retcon to explain the stupid decision you made near the end of season 3. On the other hand, tiny_Dean!

Jack of Fables #25: Still better than Fables, though I'd buy an entire issue of nothing but Babe the Blue Ox's inner monologue.

Spike #2: ...Spike/Illyria? ... ... ... seriously?

...and then I put the rest away because mrmoonpants doesn't like it when I leave things all over the floor, even when they're in neat stacks.
