Day 2 in Denver
Went to Denver Zoo. BIG CATS ARE ACTIVE! Big cats are NEVER active! Lioness came right up to us (no, I'm serious) and a hyena laid at our feet. Four snow leopards jumped across their enclosure at each other, the arctic wolves were stoic and the arctic foxes were CUUUUTE as they stared expectedly at the door awaiting food. It rained all day but we were prepared with umbrellas and the rain kept the zoo totally uncrowded as we walked about. OH! A red fox, not part of any exhibit at the zoo, also ran across a path in front of us.
Afterward went to Denver Art museum and saw some cooool sculptures, then went to see the big, blue bear peaking in at the convention center. He was pretty sweet!
Now in hotel to rest feet for a bit and then off to the REI store because tomorrow is Colorado Springs and another zoo and Seven Falls Waterfalls!
