WOW. Vic Koenig, my car place, is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! All the problems before, let's forget them!
Yesterday, my mom came down to sign over the insurance check to me at the bank. When we got to the bank the old, crabby looking lady said "Vic Koenig needs to sign this too". I felt like we were talking to an old rpg peasant at first because when I said "Oh, do we need to take this there and bring it back?" she repeated "Vic Koenig needs to sign this too". I got the feeling that if I said "How do I get to the castle?" she'd say "Vic Koenig needs to sign this too". Anyway, she did eventually let us know that Vic Koenig needed to sign it too, er, I mean, that we needed to go there first and then bring it back.
When we go to Vic Koenig and eventually met up with HoSG (his name is actually Chuck, I feel Ok saying that now because He's The Bomb) he gave us some amazing news. He was apologetic that the car wasn't done yet, but assured us that it DID have a new windshield....and roof....and hood... and fender too apparently (<-- ok, that last one he didn't tell us but that's what the 'work done' says). Um, yeah. He didn't put my OLD roof back on again. He actually put the NEW roof on! Apparently his guys had been staying in the shop until a little past 7:00 working on cars (including mine) and...um...yeah... HE PUT THE NEW ROOF ON!
While he went to take care of the check I wondered if it would be rude to ask if I could still get an oil change for the trip and finally decided that I should leave the awesome guy alone and go elsewhere. After all, I was sure he was sick of seeing my car if he'd been dealing with it for hours after the shop closed.
Eventually, after the check stuff was dealt with and the bank lady was happy (I assume she was happy. We brought the check back and all she said was "Vic Koenig needs to sign this too"- hahahah- just kidding... we actually dealt with a younger, less crabbier lady when we got back)- I got to go back to get my car.
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA! It looks GREAT! Like, almost NEW. And it DRIVES differently too! And when I looked up at my left hand corner- I saw an oil change sticker that said to come back 8/29. They changed my oil! Better yet, when I looked at the work order slip it said NOTHING about changing my oil. When I looked at the "work yet to be done" slip it ALSO said nothing about an oil change. They gave it to me FOR FREE. O_O ALSO, I owed them a $250 deductible and they didn't charge me THAT either. I'm not sure if they're GOING to when I get back from Colorado to get the last of the work done or if I'm just off the hook. Either way, I am SO HAPPY. I AM AMAZINGLY HAPPY. They are going to get the NICEST letter from me.
Oh, and also: GOODLUCK TODAY, HOSHI! SEE YOU TOMORROW!
