Happy :-)
Met up with 2 friends (Shawn and his gf Maryke) for coffee today, haven't seen them in ages... they're friends of "the ex" and mine, I'm actually surprised they still talk to me after I broke up with "the ex", especially seeing as Shawn has been friends with "the ex" for a lot longer than he's been friends with me. (He apparently shed a couple tears when he heard we split). But then we have been good friends for about 3 years now, and like me he's not exactly willing to shove that friendship in the bin... something I'm really happy about, even Maryke and I are more relaxed around eachother, most of my friends were a bunch of 2 faced buggers that I stopped bothering with after I started seeing "the ex" (I call them, they never call me, the usual Shite), except for Kim and Tania of course :-), and "the ex"'s friends became mine... especially Shawn and Richie... Richie mainly 'cause I'm easy to pick on, lol, and picking on me makes him happy, he still e-mails me every once in a while to see how things are going, and he's been friends with "the ex" for something like 10yrs or so, and he always ignores any woman who hurts "the ex"... until I came along, go figure. I must be nicer than I think I am, lol.
The main thing I cried over with "the ex's" and my breakup was that I'd lose Shawn and Richie as friends, which would have killed a piece of me, 'cause I luv & adore those guys... and Thank God, that hasn't happened... we have drifted apart a bit, which is to be expected, 'cause it is awkward, but they do still care about me and keep in contact to see how I'm doing, and like to today, arrange to get together and chat for a bit. Damn getting a bit teary-eyed here, lol.
But otherwise, today's been good, slept late, met up with Shawn and Maryke, gonna give Kim a call later to find out if I can spend a weekend with her up in Phalaborwa (where she's doing a field guiding course) before she comes back to Jo'burg... Gotta speak to my dad about that as well... he needs to tell me how to get to Phalaborwa in the 1st place... All I know is it's around one of the gates into the Kruger National Park... and there are a few gates into the Kruger.
Anyway, I'm off for a bit.
