Day Sixteen... Heaven Ain't Close

Oh, Inspiration, where art thou?

I don't care what the pep talks say about friends and family understanding your need to sequester yourself away from distractions to write. Simple truth is, no matter how you try to explain it from using small words to shouting and time-out when child arms knock hot tea into your lap, your two-year-old WILL NOT EVER understand or accept the idea of "go somewhere else, Mommy's busy writing". Even holding her in your lap will fail as she kicks and pushes at your arms to prevent you from reaching the keyboard.

The howling when she's evicted from your lap is also not conducive to writing.

22523 / 60000 words. 38% done!

243 words. That's actually my lowest daily word count since I started.

I'm actually reminded now why, even though I resolve to participate in this every year, I end up failing every year prior to this. Half way through fighting with writer's block and everything else related to Real Life, I get thoroughly sick of even looking at my computer. Never mind the recent development that my internet has produced which prevents me from updating the word count on the site on time, so I end up spending two fucking hours just trying to update the word count before midnight (and failing) that I could have spent writing.

Kill. Me. Now.

At this rate, I'll be finished some time in January!
