Research for 'Plumfield and general frustration with RL!

Doing some more research for the ending of 'Plumfield' from two fascinating sites. London Lives and The Old Bailey Online which has a wealth of primary sources of seventeenth and eighteenth century cases heard at the Old Bailey during the period.
I had planned for Marie-Angelique to be brought to justice for her attempts at murder but doing this may mean a troubling moral choice for our characters. She's not a good person, but can they condemn her to transportation or death? I think Sam and Sophie would have problems with diong that but I'm not so sure about Viola or Bram and I think Toby would be very torn. What would happen to her children, Auguste and Louis-Abrahame? Boy, this could get complicated.

Still slogging through the other reading. I pretty much finshed 'Pamela' which was a great help as it's set at exactly the right time. That's the milieu I want to play with. I need to get on with 'The Leopard Prince' and 'Fanny Hill' which I had already read last year at some point but I think it will help to re-read the book for insipration. I don't know if I would be able to get through 'Clarissa' and 'Tom Jones' at the same time. they are quite long but I'll try. As for the Jilly Coopers I still haven't gotten round to reading them but I'm hoping that I'll get through at least 'Polo' before the start of Nano. I can't believe that we've only got 10 days left!

These are just a couple of videos for visual reference and inspiration during Nano.

This is the trailer for Tom Jones starring Albert Finney and Susannah York. I love the look of adaption like this and Barry Lyndon. Even though it was set in the 18th century , it still has that 60s ambience as well. I really do need to get this on DVD at some point.

A scene from Tom Jones. Young! Albert Finney really does look like Ewan MacGregor, doesn't he?

This is from a 1991 BBC miniseries called Clarissa starring Sean Bean and Saskia Wickham. It's probably a big inspiration for the Sophie strand of the novel and it's based on the novel by Samuel Richardson. I remember watching this when it came out avidly. I had no idea that there were scenes on Youtube because I haven't seen it since.
