I made a great Pho, last night. I'm sure it was anything but authentic, but it was certainly delicious. I had a recipe from a low fat cookbook, and my mom took a copy and completely rewrote it (she's talented like that). It had star anise, cinnamon, cloves, hot pepper and garlic as the main flavours for the broth (along with hoisin sauce, fish sauce, beef broth), and I poured the boiling hot soup over a bowl filled with fresh herbs, bean sprouts, soba, baby bok choi and sliced, rare beef. It was soooooo good!
