Problem is, there are a ton of plain chunkerbuts out there who are in happy relationships. I frequently compare myself to them and wonder what the difference is ( ... )

I somehow suspect that neither you nor ladyscience would settle for a man who can respect sass and wants a mousy plain jane type.

I can't even get through one date with a boring man, much less attempt a relationship.

At some point we may have to decide what is more important to us: holding out for someone that melts our butter, and accepting that it may not happen, or a relationship with someone that we may find boring or frustrating. I know which I've already chosen. It seems unfair though that I have to choose.

There's a rant about the patriarchy in there somewhere, but I'm not ready to completely articulate it yet.

I generally accept frustrating because it's a better choice (to me) than boring. That's a choice I wish I didn't have to make.
