Did you miss me? ;)
I've had a crazy two weeks in Dublin. In that time, I--
1. Spent St. Paddy's Day in Dublin, Ireland. Remember JK Rowling's description of the Irish Quidditch World Cup, with the flags and the hats and the mayhem? It was a lot like that. Except crazier, because everyone had gotten drunk off of Guinness by, like, 10:00-- in the morning. I got stuck in a parade and everything.
2. Stayed in the most beautiful hotel with my parents. Although it was out in the middle of nowhere, with virtually no restaurants and it was a twenty minute bus ride into town. One night they had everything booked so that there was nowhere to eat and everyone, guests and staff alike were cranky with management. We ended up eating in the pub. Sandwiches and beer.
3. Moved to a gorgeous B&B. Mostly I loved it because my bed was a double, although I'm used to sleeping in a twin so most nights I ended up sleeping on one side of the bed, anyway.
4. Going to visit the cliffs in a suburb called Hoth (rhymes with both, unless you're from Dublin, in which case it's like Terre Haute.) The guidebook ended up taking us astray and up a really steep cliff and my mom had a bad knee, so that was rough. We never actually got to the cliffs, but that hill had a beautiful view from the top. ;) We ended up having the best food in town, though.
5. Shopped. We ended up buying the last Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone book-- in Gaelic. We're truly geeks. And I'm okay with that. All of the names are the same, except Seamus's name is Seamus O Finnigain, accent over the a's and o's.
6. Walked by the place where Voldem-- Ralph Fiennes was doing theatre. Tickets were all sold out, though. Ah, well.
7. Saw one play that ended up being weird and another play that ended up being dirty but so, so good.
8. Visited lotsa museuems.
Yeah, I should shut up now, but the past two weeks have been fantastic. I thought I'd be really homesick when my parents left, but I'm actually doing all right. I only have six weeks here left, so I gotta take it as it comes. Oh, and write some freaking papers before I move to Belfast on Saturday.
