I AGAIN didn't sleep very much last night. We had some friends over to celebrate a birthday, and after they left I turned on the Weather Channel to see what on earth was going on, because they kept promising huge thunderstorms, my head would start to hurt, and then there wouldn't be anything. So I had a headache and I wanted to see if the storm would hit already.
So, when I got so tired I couldn't stand it anymore and was about to turn it off, The Weather Channel went CRAZY and said we had a tornado warning! ZOMG! I got really, really scared, and it wasn't helping because the anchor pointed right on the map where I live and said there are tornados coming. Yikes! I didn't hear a siren, so I turned the channel to the local news, and there were like tornados everywhere! The map was lit up, right north of where I am, to due south.
Finally, about an hour later, they eased up and said that the tornado right above us had fizzled out because of the mountains. The tornado in Alabama was still going strong, too, which is interesting because usually they lose speed and stuff. This one was ginormous and flew right across two states with no trouble. 0-o. Hopefully my aunt, uncle, and grandmother are okay. I think the thing headed north of them, but I'm not sure.
Finally, when the weather map showed nothing exciting in my city, I went to bed. Thank goodness for mountains. (Actually, I was all reassured because of the mountains, but the local anchor was like, "For those of you who are thinking, I'm surrounded by mountains, it can't get me, let me just remind you that they can drop anywhere out of the sky!" AAARGH! That is one bit of info I did not want to ever know!)
...Yeah.
