*First of all, How I Met Your Mother got a nomination! It's about time. NPH is going to pwn these Emmys. He's the host, and Dr. Horrible and HIMYM both got nods.
*Second of all, getting off early yesterday means half hour lunches to make up for it. Not getting a full hour makes me tired and cranky.
First, the bad, because I have so few complaints:
1. I only had two major issues with this one. First: The burning of the Burrow. That doesn't even make sense in the context of the seventh book. 'Cause, first of all, they escape from the Burrow during the wedding. And secondly, Ron escapes Harry and Hermione and hangs out there for awhile to sort his head after the necklace gets him down. Also, see bottom for a minor spoiler for movie seven (ha, I have insider information.) It's not huge, but some people might consider it to be a spoiler. If you've read the book, it won't be a shocker. I am putting it at the bottom of my entry with an asterisk* so you can read it if you want. I can't do spoiler space in spoiler space, people.
2. Also, my favorite line of the series didn't happen. Ron was supposed to say (and I'm paraphrasing, because I don't have the books on hand) "We're with you, Harry. Today, tomorrow, we'll be with you wherever you go." Because that's Ron! In the movie, Hermione paraphrased the line, and Ron just sat there looking gloomy.
THE GOOD:
1. Alan Rickman, first of all. OMG. He doesn't even have to change facial expression to convey exactly what he's thinking. There are two scenes that got the whole audience laughing: the scene where Harry asks him where Dumbledore went to. Snape's expression doesn't change, but everything about the look in his eye says, "I'm not even going to dignify that with a response." And then, later, when Ron is in the hospital wing and he calls for Hermione with Lavender standing right there and that drama plays out, his eye expression just killed me.
2. The acting is generally getting better. There's a lot more subtlety in their performances now. And Daniel Radcliffe with the Felixis Felicis got the biggest laugh of the night: "Well, sir, you could come with me." Heee. Even Emma Watson has toned it way, way down.
3. The scene where Dumbledore casts the fire spell over the dead people in the water (can't remember what they're called, I don't have my book with me) was beautifully done. As a sucker for good cinematography, I was geeking out so hard. It was just... beautiful. It looked like the cover of the British book.
4. McGonagall: "Why is it, whenever something happens, you three are involved?"
Ron: "I've been asking myself the same question for six years."
5. Draco, Oh my God. The actor gave it his all in this one. You really felt his pain. And he particularly sold it when they all went down to Hagrid's hut to burn it. He looked so shaken. Really well done.
6. I was waiting for Ginny and Harry to really kiss, but guess not. Also Hermione crying over Ron broke my heart, it really did.
Yeah, that's all I can think of for now. When's seven?

*My sister saw them film when she walked down the streets of London quite by accident. She saw cameras and decided to follow the crowd, and ah ha! Harry Potter. She said they were in a café wearing what looked to be wedding type clothing, which means the wedding happens and they escape. (Unless, she was lying. But if she was going to lie, she should have told me she saw a cooler scene, like Voldemort and Harry dueling or something.) But that doesn't even make sense if the Burrow burns down now. Where did they escape from? Where's the wedding? They haven't even introduced us to Bill (so, no werewolf) so they're going to have a lot of explaining to do. If they didn't want to hire another guy, they should have had a quick comment like, "Mum's going nuts, Fleur's always around because she likes Bill. Good thing they're out of the house at the moment, you don't want to be around for that." But no mention. Huh. No wonder the danged thing is going to take two movies.
