So close and yet so far......
I still have 5 gifts to wrap, sugar cookies to frost, rice pudding to make and, if time allows, I would love to deliver cookies to Kay and Mick all before 4pm tomorrow. Oh and I absolutely must bring cookies over to our neighbors. The husband, Tom, showed up at about 6pm tonight with a homemade Flan. Oh my gosh!!! It's the biggest Flan I've ever seen in my life! And, did I mention,.... it's homemade. They are the best neighbors ever. They've invited us over to their place for a couple of parties, their 5 yr olds birthday and there is a constant stream of yummy Mexican treats come over to us. Love them! Think I'll invite them over for our traditional Friday night pizza next week. Must do better getting together with them.
I forced Nicholas to go see Santa today. Poor guy was just not at all ready to sit on the big guys lap. It was quite clear that Nicholas hated the whole thing. All I could think of is how great it's going to be in 10 yrs when I look back on all those Santa pictures and see my little guy as he grows up. So, like it or not... he had to sit there, tears and all. I'm such a mean mom.
I'm a little annoyed with online shopping this year. One of my gifts for DH is still not here. humpf! It was ordered in plenty of time and on the website it said delivered with standard delivery it would be here by the 16th. Yeah right! Now I get a little auto generated message saying my order was shipped 2 days ago and that it should be here sometime between now and Jan. 4th. WTF? Where did delivery by the 16th go? I'm not going to be leaving positive feedback, let me tell you. If I'd knows standard delivery was this unreliable I would have sprung for priority.
Off to finish the wrapping........ I'm not going to bed until it's done. I don't want that hanging over my head when I get up. Tomorrow, I want it to just have to finish up the baking.
