Officer Retard

Feb 23, 2010 21:02

Okayyyyyyyyyyyy... So, the officer who wrote my ticket at the accident (Mr. GrumpyPants) not only took a week to write his report (supposed to be 24 hours) he also wrote me a ticket for "failure to notify DMV". Well, I took that to be Failure to Notify DMV of my status as an Oregon Resident. Turns out, that's not what that ticket is for. Officer GrumpyPants should have written me a ticket for not having an Oregon Driver's License.

I went to court today and the judge said "You got a ticket for Failure to Notify DMV. What did you fail to notify?"
Me: "I failed to get an Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of moving here.

The judge goes on to tell me that the officer wrote me the wrong ticket AND that he put the wrong ordinance number on the ticket for the charge that he did place against me. Since the officer did not give written proof of dismissal if complied on the ticket it gets more complicated. The judge is going to have to look into the ticket closer and so told me to set up a trial date so that I can talk to the officer and be seen again. Not sure if this is going to work out in my benefit but... what can ya do? Maybe the officer will drop the charge if I show him that I complied.

It was just funny. The judge was rather flustered. ^^;;;

OH!!!! And the motherfucker who hit me was at court too! It turns out he does have car insurance, it was just in his other truck. You can bet your sweet ass that he will be getting some phone calls from my insurance company! :P
