So, yesterday me and an online friend decided that since we lived in basically the same city that we should get together and meet! YAY! There were plans for terriyaki and hanging out after I got off of work. They're from Beaverton so they took the Max out to 162nd and Burnside. It was raining and the train area is scary and there was still 30 minutes before I was going to be there. They went to the 7-11 up the street to wait.
Lauran and I pull into a parking spot, our new buddy gets in the car, I pull the car out and start pulling towards the 162nd exit from the parking lot and as I am crossing this guy in an Explorer who had his back up lights on but wasn't going anywhere when I started... we realized that he was backing up into us. I wasn't going to pull onto a busy street without it being safe so I honked my horn. The guy stopped for about a second before backing up again and this time faster. He kept backing up after he hit the car. He hit the car in the center of the rear passenger door with his tow hitch.
I get out of the car, they get out of the car. "Do you have insurance?" "No!no insurance!". At that time I called 911 and reported the accident. I was still blocking them in so they couldn't go anywhere. It was a couple of Mexican guys who had Washington plates. While I am on the phone with the dispatcher, there was a very angry black man in an Escalade trying to get me into a fight. There are 3 exits/entrances to this tiny parking lot, 2 of the others he could have used to exit. Instead, he decides to make it into a fight. He eventually left. Fucker.
Police come, I tell my side of the story, he tells his side of the story, I am given a ticket for $142 for not having an Oregon Driver's License yet (My California one is still current, and I haven't had the extra $75 to take the test laying around). The other guy got like 3 tickets. I go to court next month.
I have an insurance claim and I should be hearing from them on monday. I am going to go and take my ODL test, which should help when I go to court and maybe I can get the fine reduced.
Seriously, it's just one more thing I need this week.
My mother and I had a bit of a bitter laugh about how it was the annvisary of the car accident that almost killed me and I got hit by the same goddamned car!!! :P
