First Feelings of Autumn

I love Fall. The leaves here have already started to change on a lot of the trees and today the first "fall" dry winds have been blowing. It's really quite lovely. I missed most of fall last year, as I was working graveyard and sleeping through most of the days. I feel blessed to live in such a beautiful place.

My father left last night back to Indonesia. I was sad to say goodbye to him, and I won't see him again until June. But, that is one thing to look forward to next summer!

My freind Mandi and her boyfriend were on their way home from Rainfurrest and had a 2 hour layover. We went to dinner and had a fantastic time drawing together. I need to scan those.

I am feeling better, though I caught a cold at the hospital. Today I can almost sort-of taste things again. :) I told myself I was to rest today and I am trying to be good about it. Though, I did take the air conditioner out of the window. The wind was wreaking havoc in my room. It took me a bit to get the screen back in the window, but I managed it.

Just finished reading These Happy Golden Years, the 2nd to last of the Little House on the Prairie books. It left me with happy excited feelings about the thought of getting married. Which is a good thing. :) I am trying to decide what I really want when it comes to the wedding. Need to sit down with Lauran and talk about it.

Excited about going to Humboldt next month- I am looking forward to seeing Lindsey get married and to see all of my friends and go to my old haunts. It's a beautiful time to travel, and it's been too long since I've been "home".

I hope this winter goes better than last winter. I am better prepared for this one. All of my planting stuff is tucked away from the water and I need to harvest my carrots soon. All of the succulents have moved inside and I will move in the rest of the plants that are wintering inside when it gets a little colder. I will be keeping more things on hand in case we get snow again, I don't want to be caught in the cold again.

Work is going really well. I work at the info desk on most days, though I had my first day of training at the front counter on sunday. I mostly watched, which was nice. Waiting for this cold to clear so that I have a functioning brain again. It doesn't look TOO difficult for the really basic stuff (impounds), but things like redemptions and deferments are more complicated. I did help Luisa out and I wrote my first two tickets (NOIs) yesterday.

All in all, life is pretty good!
