A trip to the ER and an update on life!

An update on a few things!

1. I did go to the ER the other night. I took my metronidazole about an hour and a half after I ate. This was a mistake. Within minutes of taking the pill I was completely incapacitated with pain and abdominal and back spasms that caused me to curl in a ball and sob uncontrollably for over 20 minutes. We almost called the ambulance. I haven't yet gotten my health insurance cards, so I was pretty fucked as far as going to the hospital. However, after looking at the literature from the Drs office, it said that if I got those reactions that we should seek medical treatment ASAP. I drove to the ER, and was feeling pretty good when I got there. However, my BP was ... umm... horrible. like.. 200/105 or something like that. Though, he was using the small cuff. He remeasured it and it was still pretty high, but nothing THAT horrible. It was going to be a horrendous wait and the nurse who triaged me had hinted to that they were going to give me Benadryl. I opted to go home and take it there and save on the 400$ visit. The next day I was pretty messed up, but I am feeling better today.

2. I put in my two weeks at Lombard. They are sad, but nothing you can do about it. I am looking forward to more time at home and making more money and a WAY shorter commute. And government benefits. Did I mention those? 'Cause I should.

3. Home life has been really good. Me and Lauran are as strong as ever and really settling into our new place. There are bumps here and there, but I can say that I am truly happy to have my potato. <3

4. Rutebega has really slipped into our world very well. It's been a bit hairy recently with all of the heat and construction and having people in our house, but he is doing well and seems to be healthy and happy. He's a lovely little critter and very social. :)

5. Honey Cat is doing well on his new medication regiment and his asthma, arthritis and herpes are now all under control. He is taking Glycoflex, Lysine, Grizzly Salmon Oil and prednisone. His labwork all came back normal, so the steroid has had no ill effects and he is not hyperthyroid. He is like a new cat, playful and jumping on his cat tree again. It's nice to see him feeling better, I hadn't realized how much pain he had been in.

The only thing that could be better is if it was cold and raining again. I kinda miss winter...
