Abortion Doctor
Hearing about the abortion doctor who was killed made my heart sad. Why on earth would you kill someone to show that killing someone is bad? He was at CHURCH! for god's sake! What is wrong with people?
I understand that abortion is a heated topic and that it is an emotional topic.
I do not believe in the "pregnancy is really annoying" 2nd or 3rd term abortions. I do believe in terminating a pregnancy in the first trimester if you do not want to be pregnant. I do, however, believe in 2nd term abortion (and 3rd if needed) when the life of the fetus or the mother is in danger. What would you do if your baby had a defect that was not compatible with life? Or like this poor woman (http://www.boston.com/news/globe/magazine/articles/2004/01/25/my_late_term_abortion/) who had to have an abortion when they found out that the baby's spine had not joined correctly and that he was hydrocephalic and would need dozens of surgeries and even then would have severe mental retardation, be paralyzed from the waste down, incontinent and not have much of a life at all even if it SURVIVED the pregnancy, being born and the countless surgeries? Or maybe a woman who discovers that she has really aggressive cancer while she's pregnant and needs chemotherapy and/or radiation (which will kill a fetus)? Conjoined twins with one heart, one set of lungs, and half a brain in each head? Or maybe the pregnancy causing kidney failure and without a kidney transplant the mother may not live. It is not easy to get a kidney!
There are GOOD reasons to terminate a pregnancy.
That right for a woman should be protected.
