Basically this is a post to apologize to everybody on my flist who commented on Blood Debts or a couple of my other stories over the last week and I haven't responded to yet.

So I posted Blood Debts on March 11 and continued on with my day on that fateful Wednesday.  Went to bed that night with the full intention on checking my email, responding to

Hope things are going better for you too. Oh the bright side, at least I'm finally getting around to going through things down there, I just wish I would have gotten off my butt and done it sooner but, well, it's getting done now.

Thanks. Well if nothing else, this has taught me to stop storing things in cardboard boxes, I'm becoming more ecologically friendly at least. (Lame, I know but it's one of the few bright spots I've got.)

Hey, I don't think there's anything lame about it. You are making the best of it and trying to regather... I have never lost anything to natural disasters but I lived in tornado territory for a long time and we had them go past us plenty...I always knew I was lucky... and I am just so sorry you lost what you did.

Sorry to hear about the flood. I know how much the items meant to you & if I could replace them for you, I would.

Yeah I know you would. Of course if I had gotten off my butt months ago and actually sorted through everything down there maybe it would have been less destructive. And I ran into one of my brother's old friends and told him what happened and he's going to see what pictures he's got and try to contact a couple other people and see what he can find for me.

As for the wedding pictures, some I'll be able to get copies of, so some things are looking up.

And hey now I don't have an excuse not to sit and go through all the boxes and actually decide what is really important and what's not.

As for the wedding ones, was there an official photographer ? If yes, they may still have the negatives and could make you more pictures

The Wedding Photographer gave us the negatives, they were/are actually upstairs.

The wedding pictures that were lost were actually pictures that other people took and I don't know/never knew really, where they all came from. But they are actually worth more because they weren't staged/posed photos, know what I mean?

I'm so sorry, sweetie. We've definitely been there, our basement flooded a couple of times in the last few years because of very heavy rains. Both times we lost things and it was a mess to clean up.

I hope that things look up for you soon. I am so sorry for all of the precious mementos you lost.
