Summary: Long, long time ago, far, far away there was a frozen, forgotten village where almost no one came anymore... there was a very miserable man living nearby. His name was Snow and he was dreaming of meeting his true love.

Long, long time ago, far, far away there was a forgotten village where almost no one came anymore. Almost, because one man who'd been an adventurer all his life decided to visit this place. Everyone told him "Don't go there, because it's a haunted place ruled by the devil", but he didn't listen to them. People were idiots, that's why he refused to stay long at one place. The mentioned village made him interested, he wanted to see it so much, because that place was very cold, almost frozen.

What he heard about it, was true... When he was getting closer to it, there was more and more snow and it became colder and colder. He was prepared, though, he put some thick clothes on, so he managed to get there somehow, but the hefty layer of white, wet fluff made it more difficult for him, he got very tired in the end.
There wasn't anyone outside, but he saw the light in the biggest house, so he just knocked. A middle aged, tall man opened the door and looked at him surprised.
"I haven't seen any strangers here for ages! What are you doing here?! You can freeze to death, come in!"
The adventurer went inside more than willingly, because he really needed to warm himself up. The man asked him to sit next to the fireplace and he did that. The most surprising thing was, the house was quiet, too quiet...
"Do you live here alone?" He asked the villager.
"Yes, my wife and children are dead. They froze to death, like most people. You really should be crazy to come here... Tell me, who are you, young man?"
"My name is Juri, I travel from one place to another, looking for something which can make me excited. I've heard about this place and I just wanted to see it. It's so strange it's that cold!"
"You have to be crazy, young man! The cold is because of the devil who lives in our forest, it's his fault!!! The village gets colder every year, we're going to die soon, everyone... Better get out of here as soon as it's possible!" The villager warned him.
"No. Where is that devil you just mentioned? I can try to help you, if it's not a problem." Juri smiled and closed his eyes. The fireplace was very warm, he liked it a lot.
"I can show you the direction, but trust me, he will kill you, like he did with my son. He wanted to kill that creature and everyone was sure he will be able to do that. He was the strongest man in the village! You won't be able to save us, you look to weak!" The man laughed.
"We will see. I'm going there tomorrow." The adventurer smirked and laid on the floor, next to the fireplace. He didn't believe in this bunch of fairy tales, there was no devil and dangerous creatures in the forest, he just knew it.

Next morning he put on his thickest clothes, took some food and went to the forest. It was really quiet there and everything was white, even the tree branches. He felt like he was in some kind of fairy tale, the place was beautiful! He smiled and went further into the woods, not caring about the cold at all. The beauty of the nature was more important for him... Even if he could freeze to death, he didn't mind, because he didn't miss all these cities, full of criminals, bad smell and idiots. He didn't run away from home without a reason, he just hated it there and he wanted to be free... so he had started traveling and looking for some excitement. He helped a lot of people on his way and they had paid him well, so he had enough money to buy food and pay for the inn. He usually spent the night outside, in the forests, caves and such places. No one robbed him, because he tried his best to look like a poor wanderer, so the bandits didn't even pay attention to such man.

Juri was walking ahead to a random direction. He could follow the footprints he left on the snow easily if he wanted to go back anyway. The layer of this white fluff was very thick, it reached up to his knees, which made him even colder, but he was the man who never gave up and he had to find the thing which caused all this cold temperature. It was probably some magic item, which was called "devil" by all these people and they didn't get there, because they were weak and froze to death on their way. That's what the adventurer thought, it was nothing to be afraid of.

He started to be a little bit nervous when he was walking non stop for a few hours and he couldn't find a single thing. Everything was so silent, unmoving, frozen and... dead. There were no animals, no birds, no plants. Only these trees, completely black, with empty trunks. That was really scary, but he was sure it was only his imagination and he still had to move forward.

Another hour had passed and there was more snow and even lower temperature when Juri walked further into the forest. He almost stopped feeling anything, his legs, his arms and hands, any part of his body. It was definitely too cold. When he started thinking about returning to the village, he noticed a small shack, right in front of him. He didn't hesitate to push its door open and quickly enter inside. Everyone would think it's not that cold inside, but this time it was different... The small room was completely empty and there was someone sitting in the middle of it, whispering some unknown words, probably in some strange language and meditating.

"Excuse me," Juri spoke "I didn't want to disturb you, but do you know the reason why is this place so cold?"
The man lifted his head and got up. He was wearing a white suit and a white hat matching his clothes. His face looked very scary and hostile, it also seemed he was blind, because his irises were white too. He looked like a... demon or some kind of devil.
"Yes, I do and you're crazy if you came here, because you're going to die now. I've told you about it many times, peasants. Stop bothering me." He lifted his hand and shot a streak of blue light to Juri's direction. It hit the man's arm and froze it completely.
"I... What did you do?! I can't feel my arm..." Juri started regretting he didn't take any weapons with himself this time, because he really needed them now. He could only use his bare fists, but it wouldn't be a good idea. "Please, stop. I'm not a peasant, I'm just a poor wanderer, l can go if you don't want to be bothered, just please, tell me what's going on with this snow... Is it you who did that? One of these peasants told me about the devil living in the forest. They're dying, all the time. I just offered them my help."
"So, are you another one who came to kill me?" The man snorted. "That's so funny! How can you, weaklings, even touch me if I freeze all of you to death before you can open your mouth?! I'm a bit bored actually, so you won't die yet. I will torture you a bit more this time, because you don't seem to be as stupid as these idiots from the village."
"Why?" The adventurer said only one word. Only one, but it made the man stop. He started to think about something intensely. "Do you want something in exchange for letting these people live?" Juri added when the stranger was still silent.
"No. I wanted all of them die, they deserve it." He quickly approached the adventurer and grabbed his throat forcefully. His eyes showed some signs of feeling pleasure when he did that. "I'm just bored, so I will give you a few more seconds. Say something before I kill you. I want to hear your last words..."
Juri looked at his face which was closer to his and he said the first thing which came to his mind, not thinking about it at all.
"You're so pretty..."
Suddenly the man released him.
"Really?" He asked, changing the tone of his voice completely, he sounded shy, not cold.
"Ummm... that was the first thing I thought about, but... I guess it is true, I said it spontaneously." The wanderer was confused, he didn't know what to do. Run? No, there was too much snow around, he could be caught easily.
"I... Thank you... but you have to prove it. If it's the truth, I will turn my magic back and leave this place, but it can happen only if you do something for me. If I'm really that pretty, kiss me."
Juri wasn't sure what he was doing, when he suddenly noticed he's touching the lips of the man with his. He embraced the stranger tightly and he stopped being so cold. It felt so nice, to hug someone like that and the man didn't protest, he felt very comfortable.
"I think I can trust you." He whispered to the wanderer's ear. "Let's go, the snow already started to melt, your actions lessened the power of my spells, I can't keep up the cold anymore. You turned Snow into me, Sono, again. I didn't expect it might happen."
When Juri took a step forward and looked at the man's face, he noticed it had changed. He was even prettier than before and not scary at all. He looked scared, but he forced himself to smile warmly and it was the most beautiful smile the adventurer had ever seen in his life.
"Where do you want to go?" He knew he couldn't leave Sono now, there was some kind of bond forming between them and it seemed they were meant to be together from now on.
"Somewhere with no people around... I don't want to meet them..." There was some sad vibe in his voice, like he was hiding something, a dark secret maybe...
"Then let's go back and wait for me, I can't miss the prize people from the village will give me. Peasants always give me something for help... and it can be useful." Juri grinned and embraced Sono's waist. "You are even more beautiful than before."
The other man smiled happily and walked into the direction where the village was.

The forest was coming back to life. It was amazing that the snow melted so quickly and plants started to grow everywhere with an incredible speed. Soon, everything was filled with the sounds of the birds singing beautiful serenades. Juri had a feeling that the man next to him is controlling everything with some kind of magic. He really didn't know what Sono is, but he didn't care... the other didn't seem to be dangerous at all.

Sono sat on the ground, waiting for Juri to come back. He's been waiting for so long, for so many years... but finally, someone came and saved him. Rescued him from the painful loneliness he suffered from so much. It was easy to notice the other man was really attracted to him, that's why Sono gave up and stopped freezing the land. These peasants paid for their cruelty already.

He really didn't want to remember everything, but he couldn't forget. When he was a baby, his mother neglected him, left him in the forest. One of the peasants found him and since he was an infant, he looked like every human. His life in the village wasn't bad... until the moment when he was growing up and his powers activated. Sometimes he couldn't control Snow and people were scared of him. They've started to avoid him, throw rocks at him, beat him up and harass him a lot. One day he was banished from that place...

Completely alone, abandoned, sad and lonely, he went further into the forest, not knowing what to do. The anger grew inside him. He hated these people so much, for all these things they did to him... and they had to pay the highest price, which was death. He hoped he will manage to torture them with the cold and kill all of the peasants eventually... but after so many years, a stranger came and said something nice to him. Something, he was longing after so much.

Juri didn't even care what he was... but Sono didn't know it himself. He only knew he can transform into Snow and control the coldness. Maybe he was some kind of demon or spirit, he had no idea. Peasants were saying that demons are evil, but he didn't feel like a bad person. He just wanted to be accepted and loved.

Soon, the other man returned with a horse drawn wagon filled with food and other useful things.
"Get in, pretty. We're leaving." He smiled warmly, which melt Sono's frozen heart even more.
"Where?"
"Anywhere you want. I'm just a wanderer who travels around the world. I've seen many things and I can take you to many wonderful places."
"Will we always be together then?" He asked Juri, hoping he will never be alone anymore.
"Together forever." He hugged Sono as soon as the man sat next to him.

Soon, they hit the road, looking forward to see many wonderful places. Together forever, to the end of their lives.
