“What did you do?” Gwen asks Merlin urgently, after dragging her by the arm to a secure corner.
“What do you mean?” Merlin looks at her confused. “I didn’t do anything.”
“People are saying that Arthur dumped Sophia because of you. I was in the restroom just now; she was crying her eyes out.”
Merlin rolls her eyes and crosses her arms over her chest, annoyance evident in her face.
“He didn’t break up with her because of me. Actually, she was the one doing the dumping; yelling across the parking lot that they were over.”
“I heard you insulted her and then laid one on the blonde prince.” Will says, startling both girls. Where the hell did he come from?
“God!” Merlin breathes out exasperated. “That’s such a lie! I did not kiss Arthur!”
“But you did insult Sophia?” Gwen eyes her sharply and Merlin looks sheepish.
“I may have made a few acid comments about her lack of cognitive abilities. But that’s all.”
“Merlin, what were you thinking?” Gwen shakes her head in pure disappointment. “You know us regular girls only survive high school by not pissing off the popular ones. Especially not the Queen of the hive.”
“I think you’re watching Gossip Girl a little too much.” Merlin comments, rolling her eyes. “Sophia doesn’t have the mental capacity to plan a major vendetta against me.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure.” Gwen replies somberly.
“What’s she’s going to do? Dump a bucket of pig’s blood on my head?” Merlin says sarcastically and the other girl just sighs in defeat.
“Let’s just hope you right.”
