Looking for some good news....

One of these days I would like to have some good news to share with everybody. I'm tired of rejection and not being able to make ends meet. My sister has been paying us money as she was supposed to be living with us, but she hasn't ever spent more than a few nights a month with us. She has an entire room set up, but spends most of her time at our parents' house. She says she can't live with my husband and it's too hard on her to get up early enough to be to work on time. She would have to be somewhere about twenty minutes away by seven am. The children she watches live about five minutes from my parent's house which is why she prefers to stay there.

Anyway, the whole point of this is that when I asked her if she had the money this month she told me she didn't. Normally it would be no big deal, except that she didn't tell me until I asked her about it. Now we have to come up with her portion of the mortgage payment in three days. I don't mind that she doesn't want to pay us anymore, but I do think she should have given us more notice so that I could have saved some of the money I spent on food and bills to go towards the money I was counting on her to provide this month. So I've spent the last two days trying to figure out what I can sell to try to come up with enough money to pay the bills and the mortgage. We have just enough to pay the mortgage, but nothing else. We're behind already on the electric and water bills. I can't defer my student loans any longer as I already did that last year when hubby lost his job.

My parents would have loaned us the money this month, but they don't have any extra right now. They ended up having to pay three sets of property taxes last month, $500 deductible on my sister's car from her wreck in Decemember, plus some other stuff. Mom's going to give me a bunch of stuff I can sell, but she said it might not be worth much. I can take books up to the half price store and see what they'll give me for them. Last time I got $18 for four boxes of books, so I'm not sure how much it would help.

I had an interview on Thursday with a middle school that seemed to go well. I would really enjoy the position, I think. Everytime that I think we're actually getting somewhere, something happens to set us back again. I'm already working two jobs and trying to get the pre-paid legal business started without any luck. All I need is someone to give me a chance  and I'm hoping that the long term sub job will give me that opportunity. I haven't heard anything from the principal yet, but it has only been a week since I talked with the Special Ed coordinator.
