Fic recs: Smallville
Hello there, happy campers.
I have four, count them, four recs for you today. I mentioned before that I am moving, and my goal is to finish reccing all the stories I have in my notebook I would grab if I had to immediately evacuate my home and could only take one thing to read. This is my stuck on a desert island book of fanfic. All my fave stories in one easy to grab but very heavy notebook.
So, I must rec muchly and fast. So, here, for you Smallville fans, are your recs for the day:
1. Holding out for a Hero
I love this story. Yes, Lex is really damaged in this story, is, in some ways, not even Lex. But, I love it anyway. The slowly growing relationship between Lex and Clark is lovely. It's an AU where Clark picks up the pieces of what's left of Lex after a truly heinous Lionel and ilk get through with him. It really is great and I reread it all the time. It's set in a CSI environment, and I know a little bit of it is a crossover, but if you don't watch CSI it doesn't matter, because I don't, and it didn't distract from the story at all. 2. Meanwhile, back in Metropolis
Another must read. Clark and Lex are in an established relationship in this future fic, and yet are still tangling over Lex's less than boy scoutish activities. I laughed out loud through the whole thing, and yet appreciated the more serious undertones. Great story. Happy ending. It's here:

3. Freud
OMG, I chuckled my way through this story. Clark is still lying to Lex about who is his, but he's also learning how to fly. And when he isn't paying attention, Clark smacks into Lex's balcony, while Lex is standing there. LMAO. Watch Clark try to lie his way out of this one. LOLOLOL. Happy ending, as always. It's here:

Fave bit: "Lex! I was... um... oh damn." Clark's mind helpfully supplies that he's landed on one of Lex's balconies. Which would be okay, if Lex wasn't there. Looking down at him with a glass in one hand and a sheaf of papers in the other. Looking amused. "Um. You're drunk?"
4. Eleven Letter Words
This is actually a series, and it is wonderful. Clever adult writing. We watch Lex do his best to manipulate Clark into a relationship, using probability theory of all things, and then watch as his heart takes over. This story has my favorite ever scene of Clark using his powers in front of Lex for the first time. Great, great stuff. The stories, in order are:
