So, uh, hi everybody! *waves* I'm still here, just haven't really felt like posting in a couple months, but I have been keeping up with the few journals I have on my friends list.
I've still only been to the ocean twice and once was before I moved here. It's been too hot and humid to go for walks lately, and I don't have any desire to swim in the ocean, I'd rather just walk on the board walk or around one of the lakes. I probably won't really do any swimming this summer, because I just remembered that yesterday was the last day to pick up a pool badge for the apartment complex's pool. Oops. I was so tired I forgot. At least our AC works really well, and I have no urge to put on a swimsuit anyway.
I've been playing a ton of EQ2, but not as much as Nick and Brad. I've also been watching a bunch of anime (yay, LiveEvil put out more Yawara! I love it even if it is an old show) and reading all the Fruits Basket and KareKano manga that's out.
I hate commuting, but thankfully I do not hate my job. I actually just got promoted recently, but I can't move over to Accounts Payable until they find a new receptionist. I think they might have one starting on June 27th...then I will actually have a desk near people...:-/ This most likely means no more surfing the web or reading my book when I've finished my work. I also don't like the music people over play, so time to burn a bunch of mp3s to cd. Oh well. The two girls I'll be working with seem nice and my bosses there are really nice, and it means a pay raise (I still make crap though).
I really like living in the apartment, although I do miss a few things, mostly food related and the fact that my parents live so far away. I found out it's not fun to shop by yourself (except for bookstores). Right now Nick's sister lives in the same apartment complex as us so sometimes she drops by unexpectedly, but she's moving into a house with her boyfriend in July (or was it August?) I will miss her visits, and I will be completely alone against the menfolk. I really need to make more of an effort to become friends with her rather than just friendly with my boyfriend's sister. *sigh* I really suck at making friends.
My cats have been working to give me heart failure. They ate some of my medicine (they stole it out of the package on my desk!, broke slats on our blinds and they BROKE BRAD'S COMPUTER. *cry* Brad is being incredibly generous and refuses to let me compensate him, although I will probably be buying his old video card from him. They are so cute, but can cause so much trouble.
Hopefully this weekend Nick and I are taking the kids to Six Flags. It's been a couple years since I've gone and last time the kids were really well behaved so I'm looking forward to it. I want to ride on the new roller coaster and see the kitties! Next weekend my parents are coming to visit. AMANDA AND SARAH MUST COME VISIT SOME WEEKEND, TOO! There definitely need to be more weekends. I think a weekend for every three days of work sounds good. I need to remember, though, that at the end of summer the only thing that will really change is the weather and the weekend crowds. There's no going back to school or anything like that. I kind of miss having a house full of people to hang out with at times, but I love having Nick (and my kitties) to come home to, so R4 & V2 are more happy memories than something I want to return to.
So, yeah...I want ice cream...and I'm going to get some delicious ice cream on my way home. That's about it for an update into my not very interesting but contented life.
