Apparently, I know a bunch of people in the cast of Coraline at MCC right now. One thinks, as someone who read the damn review some weeks ago, that I would have realized this.
David Greenspan, I don't technically know, but kinda know him through Target Margin Theater Company.
Stephen Merrit, I know through Kiki and Herb.
Julian Fleischer (plays the Cat), I worked for his jazz band as an assistant, after he produced the album for Kiki and Herb. That was one of those terrific contacts that I kinda loused up by being a flakey drunk. I imagine he'd be somewhat happy to see me though.
Jayne Houdyshell was in the EST Marathon, and a lovelier, hardworking actress you'd be hard pressed to find.
I rarely allow myself the luxury of buying expensive tickets to theater, despite what a jackass I am about money. However, it's closing this week, and I felt compelled. So I'll be seeing it alone on Thursday. I look forward to it.
