Gerard had come in that morning, having booked a room for the night for himself. Of course he was excited to see his little sister, because she was his little sister!
He had had a small drink at the Hogs Head while seeing if there was anyone that would give any other information, which there wasn't, before heading out. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, he walked towards the center of the village cheerfully.
Pearline saw a lone figure walking towards the center of the villiage, and her face broke out into a wide grin. It was Ger! She hadn't seen him since Christmas Hols obviously, and due to his....work she never knew when he'd be available. He'll he'd been gone all summer, so christmas was the first time she had seen him in a year! So it wasnt nearly enough time to have spent with him as she would of liked.
She had even dressed nice for the occasion. Not too nice, since she knew when he looked at her he still wanted to see his little sister and not a woman. Well...as much of a woman as one can be at 14 atleast.
Smoothing out her trendy wizarding robes, she grined and approached him with a smile. "Excuse me sir? Have you seen my Valentines Day date? He's extremely handsome and rougishly good looking"
Gerard held his smile as Pearline approached, and stopped when he came up to her. Putting on a puzzled look, he shrugged, "Well miss, I'm sorry but the only one I know who compares to that would be me. So you're in a bit of a predicament."
But his smile broke through then and he pulled her into a hug, "It's good to see you Pear."
Pearline squealed as he hugged her and hugged him back tightly, placing a soft kiss on his cheek. "Oh Ger I missed you so so so so so so SO much," she cried leaning back to look at him, breaking out into a wide mischevious grin. "What did you bring me?" she teased, of course Ger was enough of a present for her
Gerard kissed her forehead before moving back and raising an eyebrow teasingly. "Bring you? What is my glorious presence not enough for you?"
Putting an arm around her, he started walking with her beside him and shook his head sighing. "I knew you were just using me, you just leave me heartbroken."
"Your glorious presence is more then enough for me Ger, I've missed you so much it hurts." Pearline said with sorrowful eyes and a convincing little sniffle. "seeing you only once a year is bullshit you know,"
Pearline smiled and put her arm around him, snuggling against her older brother. "Oh ya I'm using you, which is why I told Drake that I wasnt going to spend Valentines day weekend with him. You are far more important handsome, so dont give me that heartbroken mumbo jumo"
"I missed you too Pear," Gerard said his heart pulling at her sniffle. "But there's nothing I can do about it, it just happens to be that way." He shrugged, having already come to terms with the arrangements that he had to deal with while on his job.
When she said that she had ditched Drake this weekend, he inwardly smirked. Take that you no good prat, since Drake was obviously not good enough for his sister. "Of course, now you mentioned something about needing to shop? Well my services are open to you."
He smiled down at her and looked around, "Where would you like to go first?"
"Ger, I dont want you to spend your hard earned money on me. I can wait until we meet up with mom and dad later and have them give me some money," Pearline smiled at her brother "Well i botched things up with Gabriella yesterday, so I think I need to buy our dear cousin a sorry gift first, so um take me to the candy shop and then to the school supply shop, maybe afterwords we can go have some breakfast or coffee or something--and stop smirking over my ditching Drake otherwise I might owl him to join us" the threatened mischeviously
Gerard raised his eyebrows and smiled, "Don't worry it's my pleasure. Besides you can get money from them later, but I'll treat you for the day. Now...Gabriella? What did you do?"
Rolling his eyes at her Drake comment, he steered her towards Honeydukes while keeping his voice civil, "Oh I'm sure he's spending a wonderful day with his friends. Besides you rarely get to see me, as you said, but you always see Drake."
"We got into a small arguement, becasue Uncle Thomas wanted me to get her to come see him later in the day cause I asked him to come down and see us...and she didn't want to go because she wanted to spend time with her boyfriend and her friends...and I got really upset saying she never had time for me anymore...and I think it upset he rand hurt her feelings...so I feel bad, because shes our cousin and I do love her, so I want to get her some candy...and she mentioned needing some quills and ink, so while she'll probably buy some for herself, I'll buy her a few extra so she can be stalked up."
She rolled her eyes at his pout about Drake and poked him in the rubs "Jealous much? He was actually pretty upset, but when I explained that I was meeting you, he gave in. Maybe he was afraid of getting his face pounded in. Anyway, we will get to spend the actual Valentines Day together, so he doesnt have much to complain about. So tell me whats going on with you"
Gerard nodded when she explained the whole situation, "Candy and some quills sounds appropriate. And I'm sure it will blow over eventually don't worry."
He smiled when she mentioned Drake being afraid of getting his face pounded, but kept his voice innocent, just like his face. "I would never pound him...just have a good talking to that's all. As for what's happening with me, unfortunately not enough. My job has kept me running for a while and will continue to do so, but that comes as no suprise."
"It just seems like I'm messing up so much recently Ger. I never used to be like this. Whats happening to me?"
She sighed as they reached the candy shop and entered its warm confinements. Of course Hogsmeade Weekend would have to be on the coldest day of the year.
"Indeed your job does keep you a little busy," she said looking at him with narrowed eyes and a tiny pout of annoyance. "And please if given the ample oppertunity you would pound Drake's face in."
"Just adjusting after the holidays, that's probably all. This time of year tends to make people more irritable as well," he said as he opened the door and followed her into Honeyduke's.
It was frightfully cold outside, and he pulled off his gloves and hat as they walked further into the shop.
"No I would merely talk to him like civilized people," he said, picking up some chocolates to inspect before moving onto the next candy.
“Whats the worse mistake you ever made at school?” She said looking at her brother with sorrowful eyes, but held a hint of curioustiy, to her, Gerard had been perfect and could never do any wrong, to just know that she wasn’t the only one that made mistakes was something she needed to hear.
Sighing, she came on a large variety box that held various types of candy that the store had to sell chocolate frogs, licorice wands, sugar qills, pumpkin pastries, berttie bots, and many others.
She picked it up and scanned the price and winced 8 galleons, 14 sickles and 17 knuts. “Ger?” She showed him the price. “Is this too much? I have a little bit of money left I can put towards it, but if its too much, I can find something else”
"At school? Well there are definately some, don't you worry your pretty head about them though," he said. Sure he may be avoiding the subject, but to him the past was in the past and there was nothing he could do about it now.
When she held up the box he smiled and took it from her, "It's not too much at all. I'll take care of it, anything else you would like?"
Pearline kissed his cheek "I'll get you drunk someday and make you spill your guts." She couldnt help it she had to hug him again, she loved her brother so much and had missed him greatly. "I think I'd like one of those for me too, is that okay?"
