Things that bother me:
1. Tacky commercialization of Christmas and other arbitrarily dated holidays.
Christmas is really not Christ's birthday nor does New Years set on any lunar or agriculturally significant date that would start the new year. Actually Halloween is the only holiday that despite it's commercialization is set correctly on in the 5th century BC, in Celtic Ireland, summer officially ended on October 31. The holiday was called Samhain (sow-en), the Celtic New year. New Years and other holidays have been changed arbitrarily be rulers all throughout history. Also on a side note so have some measurements like the yard been based on the distance between the kings nose and outstreched arm. Don't worry the inch is based on science, the pendulum swing...
2. How language has degenerated in recent times.
It is more scientific and we have more political and commercial words. But we've lost the meaning and emotions of words in order to sharpen and differntiate our world views... I suppose there are still poets, you find them all over the web, but still there is no language like those classical books. We think they were more formal when in fact we are far more formal in our formulaic sentances based on fact, observation, and ordered. Anyone who has taken a rhetoric class knows that modern language is dumbing it down for the masses in a sequential, ordered structure. I hate this.
3. I hate the subjective facts intelligence is based on.
Racism is subjective fact. Things we observe in others and think are real but are not. Why do we have to order and differentiate things. We always overlook the fact that things always seem to work together not seperately.
4. People thinking that people are stealing Jesus by saying happy holidays instead of merry christmas because not everyone is christian. Yes there are people like that.
The list will grow believe me. Believe it or not I had a nice day...
