Remind me never again to let eight months pass without filing away the closed files. Six huge stacks later...
First I had to move all the 2008 files out of one cabinet into another so I could put the 2009-10 files in the main cabinet, then I had to organize and file a huge stack of loose papers, then the files themselves. My fingers are all dry and cracking and I'm dizzy from bending over to fill the bottom drawer. I figured if I sat on the floor my boss would find me there Monday. Better to be dizzy.
*blergh*
But, I'm all done with my 'boss on vacation' tasks except for balancing his checkbook which should take at most a half hour tomorrow. I've done all the figuring on Friday's disbursements of defendants' funds and I have about half a dozen judgments to draft--but that's all normal Friday business.
Now if the sun would just shine again...
The ceiling in the conference room leaked again in last night's torrential downpours (I HATE driving in that shit, which I had to both to and from church) but I think the trash cans caught it all and while there was a bit of ceiling dust on the carpet, no new tiles came down.
We started three new pieces last night at choir, all for the Fall, and while we usually take off the summer, we're going to practice through June so we can get these down. No more of this 'here's a piece, let's learn it in two practices' stuff. I just can't do that as a tenor, especially if it's in bass cleft which I can't read. Mom took both "Imagine" and "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" to write in the notes for me. I seem to be able to sing better if I know what the note is. The third piece is a Christina Rossetti poem and is for SSA. Mom and I'll sing with the altos. It's a gorgeous piece. I miss being an alto but we have only two men and they're both basses, so someone has to sing tenor and I have the range.
So, I guess it was worth slogging through the rain. My tennies got soaked and I took them off. Love a church where you can run around barefoot. *g*
Criminal Minds was very good last night. Good point about the information we put out there on the 'Net. Hate Spencer's hair. Loved the boy band comment. *snicker*
Looking forward to the Fringe finale tonight. I'll be watching Bones and it live since CW is done till Fall, and able to record Flash Forward and CSI for later viewing.
But now I have a half hour (during which I could, yes, balance the boss' checkbook, but, y'know, no) so I'm going to read fanfic. Lots of good Gabriel fics posted today!
work,
