Woohooo! 1095 words in an hour of writing in a fandom I've never written in! *g*
While listening to the Chiefs on the radio since, for the first time in like 16 years, they're blacked out. Both teams have turnovers and Cleveland has two returns for touch downs and the offenses keep scoring (and the special teams, and the defenses). It's one of those kind of games that would be fun to watch but they didn't sell out. How the times have changed!
In other news, my solo went very well. Due to this cold I don't have much breath, but luckily I didn't have to hold anything very long, managed to hit the C above middle C, and the song is kind of breathy and light anyway. I got a lot of compliments and a hug from Peter, who's cute and, of course, married, who thanked me for bringing music to the Fellowship. Why are the cute guys married to my friends?! Heather, who gave the Solstice service, is married to a gorgeous, friendly guy, too.
Anyway, Heather and I talked about possibly starting a more pagan group. In her service she had the quarters called and the ritual was very comforting. I miss my women's group but I just don't have time and I'm so much more involved in UU but I'm interested in a UU pagan group and I told her there were probably others as well, and I'd be happy to help because I've had some experience. Her husband is very interested in it--they were active pagans or Wiccans before joining the Fellowship.
Then I discovered that everytime I tried to start my financial program the computer gave this error message and had to shut down. We don't think it's the program (it loaded and wasn't freezing or anything) but we couldn't solve the problem. The computer also kept disabling the Firewall everytime it rebooted. And AVG was running something that was using 100% of the CPU power. Luckily the computer guy came in to borrow a pen while I was booting the second time and I roped him into trying to solve it. He was still working on it when I left. I ended up having to do the deposit and write checks by hand. :P Hopefully the computer geeks can fix the problem. My one concern is that I haven't backed up QB in three weeks so if we have to start from scratch for some reason I may have to do a lot of entering. I don't think that will be a problem because I don't think QB is the problem and neither did the computer guy. He had set up a back up to run every night starting last Thursday. The last time I used QB was Wednesday. We don't know why that would be a problem either, but maybe it is. It's over both our heads, hence his call, as I left, to a geek.
Great excitement.
Back to writing.
