more on the snow
Oh my god suck it the fuck up people! I just visited the local newspaper site and read the comments on the school closings (or, lack thereof) and my god the whiners! Our kids have to go to school wah wah it's going to snow two to five more inches wah wah if someone gets killed because the school district doesn't want to use a snow day wah wah.
I'm at work! Do I want to be here? Of course not! I had to dig out the scraper to make sure I had one and I'm sure the drive home will be much worse than the drive to work, but right now it's still only a prediction for more snow.
Kids get out of school all the time here now. It's supposed to be very cold tomorrow and I'm betting they'll cancel because of that. We NEVER got school canceled due to cold and they do that all the time now. I guess kids freeze to death walking or something. I dunno, no one I knew ever did and I knew a lot of kids that walked.
We certainly wouldn't have had school canceled because notoriously wrong forecasts showed we might have more snow during the school day. I think school was canceled all of three times my whole school career and that was due to the county roads drifting shut so buses couldn't get through, and there was one day that was a bad ice storm. On another icy day, though, the bus I was in with chains and snow tires slid ten feet past my bus stop.
My parents would never have thought to keep us home because of weather and mom didn't work and could easily have done so. We sucked it up and went to school.
Gah.
My give a shit factor is very low right now. PMS. Be wary...
