Okay, so living in Kansas can be a challenge at times. Idiots trying to outlaw evolution. Constant comparisons to the Wizard of Oz. Operation Rescue fucks. Etc.

And the weather.

I won't even get into how much tv I'm going to have to watch bits and pieces of online since Kansas City got stormed all over and I was recording ABC and CW from KC. At least I was able to switch CBS to Topeka everytime annoying 'the sky is falling' weather idiot Katie Horner flailed all over the KC CBS station.

No, I'm talking about around 5:55 tonight when--okay, backing up, yeah, there were patchy dark clouds around when I went into Famous Footwear to replace my black Mary Janes that I broke a strap on last night, but the sun was still out and I didn't expect storms until after seven.

And the sun pretty much remained out for the fifteen minutes of gushing downpour accompanied by at least eight minutes of hail the size of quarters.

Not knowing the storm was nearly over, I waited until the hail was done before I dashed the hundred feet to my car getting soaked to the skin in my, yay, tennis shoes, but not yay silk knit dry clean only top and thankfully silk wash and line dry skirt. As I sat dripping in my car, I called my mother and found out they had sun fifteen miles to the west. But, then, we had sun again, too.

I should have waited five more minutes because that's when the rain stopped.

It's possible another storm just blew through here but I was watching CSI and didn't hear a thing. Nor did they interupt, which was a miracle.

I missed the voting on Survivor but caught the most important part.

Also, I hate my digital cable that seems to find it necessary to, when they're giving a warning (not the weather station but the actual warnings) go to CSPAN when it's over. WTF?! I'd forgotten about that so I was frantically pushing in 13 over and over until I finally got back to Survivor.

I hate storms.

I especially hate storms that basically do shit and screw up my telly watching and maybe give us five minutes of rain. And it felt like a summer storm--actually warm rain! Stupid weather, 85 degrees on May 1.

But I did find cute black Mary Janes and, bonus, white platform Steve Madden sandals which I didn't need, but Steve Madden!

So, now I want chocolate. And my hair looks stupid and curly again since it got soaked and I didn't blow dry it.

But I did spend most of the day at work downloading Robin Hood fic. Still nothing dark enough for me. I got spoiled in Buffydom--lots of super dark fics there, man!

Or I'm just a sicko.

I'm oddly okay with that. ;)

Oh, and from what I've read of my FL in a quick skim, doesn't look like I'll have any reason to continue watching Smallville next year. Lois and Clark never did anything for me, comics, movies, tv, nada. I think I've pretty much proven that I'm all about the bad guys.

This is pretty much the most random post ever.

Here, have some cute Kansas boys...
