Written for the DC Random Facts Fest.
1. Slade regrets sleeping with Terra. The girl was no innocent and had seduced him, but he had kids older than her and he always felt vaguely dirty when she touched him. It didn't stop him from controlling her with sex, though. He needed her to do the job.
2. Slade admires the way the black and blue mold to his Robin's body, but he'll always miss the green briefs and bare legs.
3. Slade misses Wintergreen so much it hurts, and he knows that his friend was what kept him sane and on the moral path. Without him, he's lost.
4. The sight of Rose cutting out her eye haunts Slade and there are nights he wakes up in a cold sweat from visions of the knife slipping deeper, into her brain and killing her. Half the time he dials all but the last number of her phone before he stops himself.
5. No woman since Addie has challenged and aroused Slade as much as Dinah does and he regrets that they've fallen on opposite sides of the battle. He respects her even more when she fights him wounded, but the sound of her arm breaking in his hands will never leave him.
6. Slade meant to kill Arsenal but the sight of the wounds he'd only heard about stopped him. The man deserved a second chance after five to the chest. But, only one.
7. From safehouse to safehouse Slade has carried with him only a few personal items--a wedding photo, his dogtags, a lock of hair from each of his children, and a recording of Joseph singing. He'll die before he loses any of them but the recording is his most precious possession.
8. Slade knows that Grayson expected to be seduced or even forced when he became his Renegade. He chose to wait for the kid to be in his right mind. He'll wait forever, if necessary, but Grayson has to come to him willingly.
9. Slade respects Batman and sees him as one of the few heroes who can match him intellectually. He has no patience for the Bruce Wayne persona.
10. Slade admires the third Robin for changing the costume the first time but the second change intrigues him. He knows Robin is meant to be light and laughter but he never sees that in Drake. In him, Slade sees a darkness to match the Bat's and he knows that someday he'll face him in that cowl and cape.
11. Slade has no interest in the so-called supervillains. He uses them for his own means but feels they are all idiots. Even during the days of the first Society, he knew they were going to crash and burn. When they did, it didn't surprise him.
12. Someday Slade will kill the Joker for executing Alex Luthor while he was temporarily imprisoned. Luthor was his mark for nearly killing Dick.
13. Most of the time Slade is able to ignore the apparent fact that he'll live forever, but when he does think about it, he wonders if that's why he pushes away everyone who cares about him.
14. The first time Slade feels like a villain is when he betrays Nightwing and allows the bombing of Bludhaven. He fears there's no going back from that point.
15. While Slade works with supervillains it never occurs to him to betray the identities of the heroes he knows to them.
16. Slade's been wounded hundreds of times, he's even died, but the only wound that on occasion hurts is his missing eye.
17. Slade has a lot of patience. It took him over a year of work to figure out the Titans' secrets. His longest unfinished plan is killing Cheshire. It amuses him that she knows he's marked her for death at his hands, and he enjoys tweaking his plans as the years pass.
18. After she discovered his secret identity, Slade was never able to convince Addie that he'd always been faithful to her and never understood why she would think he had been.
19. Killing his son, regardless of the mercy Joseph begged him for, was the hardest thing he ever did. Slade knows he'll never forgive himself.
20. The sight of his children in his colors both breaks Slade's heart and makes him proud. He'll miss them for the rest of his life, but he knows he did the right thing.
