Great. I think I'm getting a cold.

I had some scratchiness in my throat last night but I have a lot of sinus drainage due to allergies so it could have been that. My nose ran off and on all morning and I was more stuffy than usual, but, again, allergies.
And then I got a low-grade fever and the chills and slept through half the KU game and woke up with that feeling of stuffy headness that sounds like an echo in your ears and that's getting worse.

I haven't been sick so far this year and I usually do get one round of cold, so I guess it's time.
I just wish I had the energy to fic instead of refreshing LJ continually and watching silly movies (Sahara tonight, cute in that Indiana Jones kinda way).
I should go start reading Nightwings and Robins since I have nearly the full runs now. Or go watch Rome. Or beat my muse into submission.
Maybe I should just go to bed.

I did actually read all of Janet Evanovich's
It was cute. Novella form and a quick and easy read. You really have to have read the other stories--it does slot right in--and, if you read the Stephanie Plum mysteries, you need to read this one because stuff does happen to continue a minor story line.
It brings back Diesel, the sort of supernatural? guy from the other between the numbers book. This time it's set around Valentine's Day and Stephanie has to play matchmaker for her latest skip trace who, apparently, is a matchmaker or Cupid or something. Ranger makes one brief but as always memorable appearance, and Joe is on the phone, but the other regulars pop up and it's a fun story to whet your whistle for this summer's next book (I assume there's a next book--Amazon doesn't have it listed).
If you've never read this mystery series, well, it's more fun than mystery. Stephanie is a former lingerie buyer turned bounty hunter for her cousin in New Jersey. Her grandma lives for funerals; her mother drinks; her boyfriend, a cop, has a dog named Bob who eats everything in sight; her niece thinks she's a horse; her best friend is a former 'Ho; and then there's Ranger...*sigh* Ranger..., her mentor turned brief fling turned protector/stalker.
Oh, and she destroys cars on a regular basis and is afraid of guns.
coldfiredragon did this a few days ago; maybe it'll help me get over my block. Gimme a verse from a song and a character/pairing; and I'll drabble/ficlet it. BtVS/AtS, Smallville, or Teen Titans/BatClan. First five commenters only, please, for the moment.
I'm going to go glare at the MIT fic that's stalled...
