Day 6

In your own space, create a fanwork. A drabble, a ficlet, a podfic, or an icon, art or meta or a rec list. A picspam. Something.

I'm a fiction writer. No one wants to see my attempts at art, I don't quite get meta, and I have no clue how to podfic something, so...

(Untitled Sam/Gabriel ficlet from Supernatural granting a wish at "In Small Packages")

Half-asleep Sam wanders from his bedroom in the bunker towards the main living area. The first thing that makes an impression is the low sound of music, then the tinkling of bells. The second is the mingled aromas of ginger and sugar filling his nose.

He nearly walks into the massive tree just inside the archway.

The living area has become a winter wonderland of Christmas lights, fake snow, candles, snowmen and Santa Clauses of every size, some of them moving or twinkling, and fresh greenery strewn on every surface. The tree is festooned with popcorn and cranberry strings, shiny glass balls of every color, and enough white lights to illuminate Mars. Beneath it are gaily wrapped presents. Bing Crosby is crooning on the stereo.

And Gabriel is strolling in wearing reindeer antlers and carrying a Santa plate of gingerbread men which he sets down next to a bowl of what has to be eggnog, before he leaps on Sam and kisses him breathless.

"Mistletoe," he says with a grin before dragging him down onto the couch to kiss him some more. "How about some eggnog? Or I can make grog or hot cider. And time to light the yule log."

"We don't..." Have a fireplace, Sam was going to point out, but now they do and with a snap of Gabriel's fingers, the huge log catches on fire.

Gabriel grins at him. "Merry Christmas!"

"Um..."

"Yeah, I know, you don't really celebrate and, frankly, I've never really had that particular spirit move me either, though candy canes are one of Dad's best creations." As he talks, he gets up, fetches nog and cookies, then returns to cuddle up with Sam. "I mean, it's not even the right time of the year for His birth. I should know. I was the one to give Mary the good news and I can count nine months. But, I figured..." He bites off the head of a gingerbread man, chews, swallows, then smiles up at Sam. "Our first Christmas together."

Sam sips from his cup, eyes widening at the fact that it's more rum than eggnog, and slowly nods, before wrapping his free arm around his lover. "Yeah. Yeah, this is perfect." Gabriel beams and Sam plucks a candy cane out of a snowman mug and hands it to him. He promptly starts sucking it on like a porn star. To distract himself, Sam asks, "Hey, I've never seen the original Miracle On 34th Street, just the remake. Think you can snap it up?"

Bing stops singing and the fifty six inch HD tv winks on to reveal a black and white vision of New York City and Macy's.

About half way through the movie, Sam realizes he has three days till Christmas and he already knows Amazon can't find the bunker. "I've gotta go shopping! I don't have any presents for you." Or Dean, but his brother's happy with porn and beer.

"I have everything I want right here," Gabriel says with a smile, but then snaps up a catalogue that states on the cover that you can still order till midnight tonight to guarantee arrival before Christmas. "Though I am partial to this, this, that, this..."

Thank Gabriel's Dad for falsified credit cards...
