...it's kind of like how a DVR live show can be paused...

All your cable runs through your DVR, right? Well, the DVR has a built-in buffer where it stores up to 30 minutes of your show (at least for us it's 30 min, that's the max we can pause for). Simple :)

Oh I can pause for hours! (a bonus for when I'm watching something and about to doze off for a nap). Yeah, I understand the theory but it still seems like magic. *g*
