Despite the continuing lack of HD on my HD tv. I decided not to take the box in (plus I didn't get the cartoons watched from last night). I emailed them. Maybe I need to have them activate something or pay more or something? If worse comes to worse, I can arrange for someone to come out to the house after Christmas since I'm taking those days off.
Or my brother can fix it. The Chiefs came was in full screen bright color anyway; just gorgeous! I've never been able to tell much different in HD anyway. My eyes don't seem to work like that--maybe how three-d doesn't really work right for me either.
I got most of my TW reversebang done, enough to send in last night (though I nearly forgot and suddenly it was 10:00). I'd hoped to get more written yesterday between church and Chalice Circle but I dozed while watching football. Barely woke up in time. One of our group members also napped and was a half hour late. *g*
Church was good. I kind of zoned through most of it--I didn't drink any coffee, maybe caffeine or the lack thereof does affect me. I sang my bit from my seat on the front row, surprising people.
Chalice Circle was on loss/grief. I don't think I process any of that like normal people. *sigh* The deeper I get into this book and exploring my views/emotions, the more I realize I really am not "normal". I think I'm somewhere on the Aspergers spectrum. Obviously at 48 I've learned to live with being different so I'm not running out to get diagnosed.
Anyway, we also had our little Christmas party. Our hostess is a music teacher and she played carols on her cello for us. We had a white elephant exchange and I got a lovely purple/pink floral Chinese urn that will go with my decor wonderfully post Christmas.
I recorded the Chiefs and watched them while eating dinner, wrapping gifts, and beginning my cards. Lovely demolishing of the Raiders. We scored 21 points in the first quarter--most since 1998! 21 points off turnovers, too. With McCluster, the star of last week, out injured I was a bit concerned, but Charles took over and dominated.
After that, I watched Survivor and finished my cars. Meh on Survivor. Sending out 103 cards (well, three went out last week). Insane. This year I have to keep track of cards that bounce back and remove those people from the list. Some of the people I send to haven't been active on LJ for years but they filled out a poll in like 2009.
Yuletide pinchhits are flooding in due to the default deadline yesterday. I forgot to say I almost got one on Saturday but there was some delay in the posting by yahoogroups and I guess my email didn't get received. Ten minutes after I sent it, the request popped back up on the 'still need' list, and I resent but didn't get it.
I will try not to go after anymore. I already have two plus my assignment, none of which I have started. Hurt/comfort bingo also ends at the end of December which means, if I want to do the outer edges, I have like 15 fics to write.
*sigh*
I guess I'll put on Monday night football tonight (since here's no bball) and write. I might try out my wii, too. It's the one thing I don't have to unhook.
I finally feel ahead of the game for Christmas except for writing assignments, but then I always put those off. Work best under pressure. I need to get Yuletide done by Saturday though since Sunday is Solstice, Chiefs, holiday dinner at parents'. And part of Saturday will be spent preparing for the Solstice. I think cleaning will have to wait till next Monday night. The kitchen in particular is a mess. I did at least vacumn and dust some before the Best Buy guys came so the main room isn't bad. And, by wrapping at the table in front of the tv--my writing table--instead of the dining room, I've kept that tidied up, too. Usually I just strew everything across the dining room table and leave it.
Mom said she'd have some packages ready for me to bring home tomorrow night so I can start spreading them beneath the tree. I like to get a balance of both receivers and colors/sizes. Right now there's nothing for me. *g*
I think the only things new on tv this week or Almost Human tonight, Storage Wars Texas tomorrow night, and Hawaii Five-O on Friday. That will help with the writing. KU doesn't play until Saturday morning so any sports I have on will just be background noise.
Only six and a half more work days till I'm off!
Nothing on the work calendar today but I probably should do something productive...
chiefs,
church,
holiday wrapping,
holiday cards,
tv blather
