For some unknown reason it's drizzling outside. Blech. After yesterday's 60 degrees, it may reach 40 today and then like tomorrow night be 6. Blech. Dad and I are going to Home Depot on Saturday to buy a snow blower to share.
Mom's blood pressure is still all over the place but the lower number has been lower--80 instead of the scary 100 it was a couple nights ago--and the upper is holding in the high normal of the lower 140s. She goes to the doctor tomorrow so hopefully they can figure out what's going on with that. In order to do the inner ear therapy they have to induce vertigo, and the therapist wants to make sure mom's doctor is okay with that because doing so makes the BP rise. So hopefully she can start therapy next week and it's only two sessions.
I figured out what breads I'm making and made a shopping list so doing that after work today.
Watched last night's tv. I dunno, I hated Klaus on TVD, but love him on his own show. SPN...yeah, IDEK. It was great and painful and typical. I think the show should end with everyone dying...
Tonight, after choir, I need to start decorating. Also need to start going through Wish Lists and getting addresses for cards.
So...Meme...
Go sign up! I have added Delphi's suggestion of "how I met Dar" to it. *snicker*
Today is "my affection for Methos". For those of you going 'huh' back in the 90s there was this spin off tv show of one of my all time favorite movies, "Highlander". As it was on some non-network channel on random scheduling, I never watched it in order, but at some point I did watch and tape all the eps (tape, yeah, it was that old, I was still living with my parents). So, I don't remember if I watched Methos' first ep or just got thrown into Horsemen.
Methos was 5000 years old. There are some hints he was the first immortal. When we first met him, he was a scholar and in hiding. Methos had become a myth. Because he was so old, he was incredibly powerful, and everyone wanted his head. He was in a few eps in Seasons 3 and 4, the chemistry/friendship between him and Mac growing nicely. He was witty, charming, sarcastic. He loved a good book and a good beer. Made a great contrast to Mac.
And, then, in the middle of Season 5, we got the real story.
Methos was Death of the Four Horsemen, a raider, a murderer, a rapist. For a thousand years he and his brothers terrorized what is now the Middle East, taking what they wanted, ruling their little corner of the world. He's been trying to redeem himself (or just forget) for three thousand years.
How can I not love a character that screwed up?! Both dark and light, so very gray.
Plus
he's "just a guy".
Or, y'know,
Death on a horse without the horse.
