Squishy bed came! So very different from my 15 year old pillow-top (the guy hauling it out said it was really heavy which is just gross because that means dust and skin flakes and sweat and god knows what else).

As I got a frame, too, it's much higher obviously and Raine couldn't jump up on it. I got a little table for a step-stool and helped her up on the bed and then she wouldn't get down before choir so I left her there. She was downstairs when I came home so she obviously can jump down. As soon as I put the mattress pad on, she scrambled up it with her claws, so I took the table away.

Elektra glared at the bed at first (and me because there were mens in her house) but did sleep beside me.

It was nice to have choir again especially with Lisa back. We worked on two new pieces written by UU composers/ministers. One is "Red State Blues" and is about gay marriage for the upcoming social justice service.

Royals sucked again. I recorded it after all but fast-forwarded through a lot of it. DVR didn't freeze and crap forgot to check before leaving this morning.

I'm making fried rice for dinner so cooked the pork chop, chicken and rice last night to get ready. Have errands to run after work. Need to figure out what to get sister-in-law for her birthday. Maybe just a Pottery Barn gift card--I'm pretty sure I got that for her last year. The woman has everything.

Nephew has started Middle School. Did you know that there's a day prior to the start when new students and their parents go to the school to meet teachers, find lockers, find classrooms? Sheesh, we baby kids these days. The only kindness we got on the first day of Junior High and High School was that the other two grades stayed home so we could find our way around without the mad crush for one day. Our parents certainly didn't go with us! Of course my sister-in-law was sick that day so a friend's mom took him.

Sis-in-law stayed on the sea sick patch too long and when she took it off before leaving (trying to) Seattle, she got violently ill and they had to stay in Seattle another day as she put another patch on. They've put her on anti-nausea meds but it's very regimented and she forgot to take one so she's on the patch again for a few days before she can start the medication again. And she has to start physical therapy for her intense vertigo. I'm not sure a cruise is worth all that!

Brother's black ulcers on his larynx are getting better but it's a slow process. Either they'll clear up completely, he'll have sore throats with every cold, or the sore throat and cough will become chronic.

Our family does not get simple illnesses! He had bronchitis that turned into this!

So, Wentworth Miller is gay. Apparently some fangirls are weeping in their tea. I don't care. He came out in a letter declining an invite to a Russian film festival. I keep wondering how far this is going to go and if some Olympic athletes will stay home. I KNOW the US team as a whole won't boycott over this issue, not like 1980.

Boss didn't leave till nearly 3:00 yesterday so no writing. Maybe tonight while watching Royals probably suck again. I have an idea for fullmoon ficlet which is due tomorrow night.

We're going to start sending most of our monthly invoices via email if we have it so I need to spend the day finding and entering those into our accounting program. A few clients don't have email but no one has requested paper copies outright. Last year it was an opt in and only about a dozen clients did so. This year it's an opt out and no one has contacted me. Okeydokey.

So probably should get to that.

work stuff, cats are silly, home stuff, work, choir, family stuff
