Haven't watched Saturday Night Live in years... Still remember when Jane Curtain and Gilda Radner and Chevy Chase did Weekend Update...
Anyhoo...
Go Wichita State!
Never would have expected that to be the Kansas team to make it to the Final Four.
Saturday I got my car serviced early morning. It took just under an hour so I stayed there and read comic books. I had a coupon for a free oil change so only had to pay for the tire rotation. Then went home and read more comics and watched tv and watched basketball. Cheered on the aforementioned Wichita State over Ohio State.
Sunday the choir sang at both the Program and Service so long morning at church. I did wrangle the teenager about her service this coming Sunday which she'd pretty much forgotten about, and we got a couple hymns picked. Hopefully she sent in the blurb to the newsletter. I need to look up some readings. I told her to check her email. I also spoke to her mother.
Service was very nice. I was sick for last year's Easter Service so missed our first real bread and wine communion. We did it again and I didn't really feel anything all that special about it, but it was nice. I had the juice and gluten free bread (which was nasty). When I got there, mom grumbled about doing communion on such a Christian holiday and I was like 'but we did it last year on Easter and you told me it was very moving'. Weird. Dad did not participate either year. It was interesting to see that few of the old time members did, but most of the new and younger members did. Still and anti-church culture amongst a lot of the long time members.
I didn't stay for the pot luck. Went home and watched more basketball and could not believe what happened in the Louisville/Duke game. I've been watching basketball for over twenty five years and have never seen someone break a leg. Horrible injury. I wasn't really paying attention, as I was reading, and I saw the Duke guy hit the three pointer, and when I looked up they showed a couple Louisville players sprawled on the floor and the Duke shooter with his hand to his face and I figured there'd been a collision. I hadn't seen the player leaping towards the shooter. They showed it again but then thankfully did not show it at half-time. It was gruesome.
I wrote another chapter of my new dystopian TW fic and got that loaded. Watched TAR (dammit, the nasty couple are still there) and Walking Dead. Shocking end. Apparently the show is moving farther and farther from the comics. I only have the first three trade paperbacks.
My stomach is icky today--no clue why. It hasn't been in a while.
Busy week. I need to gather all my tax stuff together tonight for our appointment on Thursday since I won't be home tomorrow night until late and there's choir on Wednesday. Thursday evening is a brainstorming party for the Spiritual Celebration Service, then out again Friday night. Plus I have to get Sunday's service under control. I'm up to loading "Heartache" (in TEAOW&S) on AO3 and it's ten chapters long and I'd like to add a chapter a night. That's the big story before "Shot In The Heart" ie the reunion fic. I have four more Divine Madness stories to load, one a week, and then I may load the Alpha Series, despite it being open-ended, and that the first five or so stories I wrote are in first person PAST tense. Ick.
I need to do the naughty on Game of Thrones when I get home. :)
Just under three weeks and boss is gone for ten days on vacation. So looking forward to being able to catch up on organizing crap (and hopefully watching a bunch of tv to catch up on things like Revolution, Dr. Who, Mad Men, since those are all starting up again). Oh, and the last season of Merlin which I haven't watched either. He's gone eight work days which is nice.
Technically today isn't "Opening Day" but it is for the Royals. We play at 3:10 which means I'll only get to listen to half the game since I have to go to the grocery. I should get home before the end, though, and catch it on tv. I pay to get the "radio" play on my computer since we have a lot of day games and it's something to listen to at work.
Well, better do something worklike here...
lazy weekend,
church,
holiday,
baseball,
march madness,
work,
taxes
