(Begun around 9:15 this morning...It's now 1:00...)
This morning I passed a "wide load" trailer just as the road narrowed down.
I think that's a statement of how this day will go.
*g*
I'm annoyed by people using the middle left turn lane for merging off of side streets or parking lots. I'm pretty sure that's not what the lane is supposed to be used for.
Busy, busy, busy (so busy that I typed that third busy as "bus" and then went and redrafted documents needed at the last second, of course, for the last thirty minutes...)
And I'm back an hour later...
DC has announced that the new (old) gay character is Earth 2's Alan Scott (Green Lantern). Okay. Are his kids still around? His wife? Is he closeted and she his beard? (or is his wife dead--I was never a big fan though I did read the most recent runs of JSA).
Off to see MIB III this weekend with dad. Reviews have been pretty positive. Next weekend will be Snow White by myself. I hope there aren't little kids there because it's so not Disney.
Anne Hathaway's swallowing of half the words as Fantine in the upcoming Les Mis movie irritates me. She can't sing well enough to pull this off regardless of her acting ability. Also, she goes flat.
I've done zilch on editing my fic. Last night I read fanfic and lazed around and watched one episode of Awake. Even though it's been cancelled, I'm going to watch it because I do like the behind the scenes conspiracy thing.
Both looking forward to and sobbing at the finale of Game of Thrones this Sunday. I'm glad I haven't read past about 2/3 of the first book (though I've skimmed which is why I'm one of three people on the whole internet shipping Sansa with a certain person) because apparently there are changes. First season held pretty fast to the book, but then so did True Blood to the first Sookie book until the very end (outside of the change in Tara's character) and look how very different it is now. Anyway, I know some people who have read the books aren't happy with some of the changes but mostly I don't know them so it doesn't bother me.
Maybe it's along the lines of why my parents are happy with the PBS versions of Sherlock--they don't know what's been cut so they don't miss it.
I get irritated knowing somethings have been cut. Like, why is it okay to say 'shit' but not 'fuck' on BBC America? And why can ABC (a long time ago) show naked butts but BBC America can't?
That reference was about The Fades which I finally watched last weekend only to discover it wasn't picked up for a second season. *sigh* Oh, and the baddie is Gendry, but even if there had been a second season and John hadn't turned into a bunch of black birds, he could have been on both because British tv doesn't seem to lock their actors into one specific show like American ones do.
Watched the first ep of this Canadian show "Continuum" and enjoyed it. Will give it a chance.
I've also read in several places people being surprised that the whole "mewling quim" line was allowed to stay in Avengers and I'm a bit baffled as to why. It's a PG13 movie, right? You can say pussy on regular tv. Hell, I'm pretty sure you can say twat on some channels. I know you can say everything but fuck in PG13 movies and some get fuck through. I was startled by the line but gave no thought to why it should or shouldn't be there. It fit Loki perfectly, in my opinion, as the Asgardians all seem to be British. *g*
Plus, it's Joss. Trust Joss to shock us. There was that whole vampire/slayer bringing down the house sex with the sound of the unzip and her riding him thing, after all.
I wish I could figure out why I'm so tired. I have a bad feeling it's my allergy medicine (non drowsy, but, yeah, antihistimenes always make me drowsy). Unfortunately I can't stop taking that and can't afford shots or prescription. I may try the real sudafed if I can force myself to swallow them. And get past my innate, 'you can't make me buy OVER THE COUNTER meds at the pharmacy counter' stubbornness. I'm still mad at Target for requiring me to show ID at the check out (not the pharmacy counter) for Robitusson I picked up off the shelf where there was no sign saying that ID was required to buy it.
Well, even though boss is gone, lunch is technically over, so...
movie blather,
things that annoy me,
tv blather,
