definition of a crack ship

I was looking over the spreadsheet for the crackship bb I'm doing, checking out fandoms and pairings, and is it just me, or is it kind of too easy to have a crackship in a crossover? Okay, technically mine is a crossover, but who actually considers Buffy and Angel to be separate?

I also was like, these aren't crack ships! Mycroft/Lestrade? Sam/Gabriel? But then I read the faq and it's canon characters who've never or rarely interacted and considering that Gabriel was only in four episodes of nearly seven seasons and I'm not sure Mycroft and Lestrade ever crossed paths canonically, okay. Not the way I would have gone, but in the rules because number of noncanon fics doesn't matter. For me, Sam/Gabriel would never be considered rare or cracky because I've written them so much.

In the Buffy fandom for me personally Drusilla/Willow would never be either, because of TEAOW&S, but I'm not sure they were ever in a scene together!

The one I'm writing is rare in both ways--not much extant fic, never seen on screen together, though I have written them a bit.

Guesses?

I wonder if Lionel/Chloe would be considered crackshippy enough. They were on screen together a lot, but certainly weren't romantic. Of course, I've written them so much I wouldn't go that way either. Obviously I'm trying to challenge myself which, originally, kind of stupid considering the fickle muse, but driving out to my parents tonight I came up with an idea.

It's based on a fic of mine which, until the idea hit, I'd completely forgotten about...

my opinions or my opinions, big bang
